Dieses feministische linke Swing-Kollektiv aus Göteborg, Schweden, hat mit seinen punkigen Vintage-Jazz und politischen Texten auf Englisch und Schwedisch eine weltweite Anhängerschaft gewonnen. Sie ehren die Jazz-Pioniere nicht dadurch, dass sie sie Note für Note kopieren, sondern indem sie ihre Energie und radikale Einstellung annehmen. Und da sie selbst Lindy-Hop-Tänzer*innen sind wissen sie genau was die Tänzer*innen brauchen! Die Band spielt seit 2014 zusammen und veröffentlichte vier Alben. Ihr Ruf beruht jedoch vor allem auf ihren kraftvollen Live-Shows, einer surrealen Mischung aus Kabarett, Sing-A-Long und politischer Kundgebung. Im Laufe der Jahre haben sie weit über hundert Konzerte gegeben und überall gespielt, von Punkclubs und Rockfestivals bis hin zu Tanzlokalen und Opernhäusern. This feminist left wing swing collective from Gothenburg, Sweden has gained a world wide following with their punk-inflected vintage jazz and political lyrics in both English and Swedish. They honor the jazz pioneers not by copying them note by note, but by embracing their energy and radical attitude. And being lindy hop dancers themselves, they know exactly what the dancers need! The band has been playing together since 2014 and released four albums. But their main reputation is built on their high-powered live shows, a surreal mix of cabaret, sing-a-long and political rally. Through the years they have done well over a hundred concerts, and played everywhere from punk clubs and rock festivals to dance halls and opera houses.
